Q: What is CAST?
A: At it's core, CAST is an online training site for the Airline and Airport industries. But that is too simple. CAST doesn't just train, it prepares and supports. It's for anyone considering a new Airport based career, who may be curious what that entails exactly. CAST will prepare you for the Airport work environment, and if you decide it's for you, CAST then trains you on more specific areas of the work on top of helping you apply at your local Airport. Even after hired CAST supports you with daily advice and training, as our goal is to help you carve out and long career, which is very difficult without proper support along the way.
Q: Who's CAST for?
A: CAST is for everyone looking for a new career within Airport Operations. Register and learn about what the work life consists of at your local Airport.
Q: What do I get with a CAST Academy membership?
A: With CAST, you receive certified Airport training that sets you apart from all other applicants. But that’s just the beginning. After completing your initial training, CAST ensures your name and information reach all hiring managers and recruiters at your local Airport. If you successfully secure a role, CAST remains by your side, offering continued support and training to keep you up to date as you grow and advance your career. CAST is here to help you every step of the way, from landing the job to building a successful, long-term career in Airport operations.
Q: Why is CAST necessary?
A: Unfortunately, over multiple decades of Airport-based experience, our leadership team has identified significant gaps—gaps in recruit preparation, gaps in initial and recurrent training, and major gaps in employee support. When combined, these gaps lead to an unsafe, unstable, and unhappy workforce and operation. These gaps didn’t arise from a lack of care but rather from a lack of time and resources available to address them. CAST was created to fix this. By bridging these gaps, we ensure a safer, more stable, and more supportive Airport work environment for both employees and employers alike.
Q: Where is CAST available?
A: CAST administers training to anyone planning to work at any Airport in The United States and Canada.
Q: What do I have to do before you introduce my resume to Airport based recruiters?
A: You need to complete the Initial Airport Preparation Training, which consists of 4 Modules. And, you must attend 1 live info/training session. Depending on your location this session may actually be in-person, or virtual. Once you have completed (attended and passed) these 5 steps, CAST will begin the application process on your behalf which means your info will be seen by all the recruiters and hiring managers at your local Airport.
Q: What type of support does CAST offer after I begin working?
A: The support CAST provides comes in many forms to ensure your success: Access to CAST reps via chat: You can reach out anytime with questions or concerns, getting quick answers and guidance along the way. Daily Pre-Game Warmups (PGW briefings): These briefings help set the tone for your shift, ensuring you're mentally prepared and focused. This proactive approach reduces the likelihood of avoidable accidents or injuries. Weekly and monthly updates: CAST keeps you informed of any Airport-related changes or requirements, as well as recurrent training, so you're always ahead of the curve and the most prepared member of your team. These are just a few examples of how CAST continues to support academy members every step of the way, ensuring you thrive in your Airport career. Your CAST membership does not end. As long as you are involved in CAST training or employed within Airport operations, the support we offer will continue.
Q: If I am already employed at an Airport can I join CAST to receive the ongoing training and support?
A: Yes you can. However, before joining yourself we would recommend you speak to your employer about them setting you up in our system. There should be no hesitancy on their part considering the program is also meant to better all Airport employers safety, and operation in general.
Q: Why do some Modules say "Required" and others say "Recommended" or "Optional"?
A: Required Modules are courses you must completed before CAST will recommend you to the Airport recruiters. Recommended Modules are courses we recommend you complete prior to interviewing with a prospective Employer, or just to gain further knowledge when deciding if this career is for you. Optional Modules are courses will keep you properly trained and up to date even after you begin working.
Q: What are PGW's? And why are they titled "Daily Warm-ups"?
A: PGW stands for Pre Game Warm-ups. These are daily briefings you will receive after you begin working, that put you in the proper headspace when starting your shift each day. The decision to utilize the PGW's will be the difference between you holding onto a job, and you establishing a career with a positive reputation as a leader.
Q: Why should I go through CAST to find Airport employment, rather than just applying to employers directly?
A: There are several key reasons why joining CAST is the best step for your Airport career: Direct Access to Decision Makers: Through CAST, your information is guaranteed to be seen by hiring managers and recruiters. This bypasses the traditional online application process, where resumes are often filtered by algorithms or lost among hundreds of other applications. CAST's strong relationships with Airport employers ensure you stand out. Preparedness for Interviews: Unlike other applicants, you'll walk into interviews already understanding the unique Airport work environment, schedules, and safety expectations, giving you a significant advantage. Ongoing Career Support: Your CAST membership doesn’t end after you're hired. You’ll receive continuous support, including ongoing training and in-person guidance, as you work to build a rewarding career.
